Hunt this trophy moose and grizzly area, north of the Arctic Circle in the foothills of the Brooks Range, offers some of Alaska’s finest moose, grizzly and black bear hunting. The “Moose” River has been labeled a National Wild and Scenic river, and with very good reason. It is perhaps one of Alaska ‘s most picturesque, tranquil and game-rich river valleys. This area is unique in that it shares a prodigious population of huge Alaskan bull moose with a considerable number of Interior Alaskan, Arctic grizzlies, mountain black bears, wolves and occasionally fine, trophy caribou. The Moose River valley acts as a natural funnel for bull moose during the rut. September is the primary breeding period in this region. Most all the bulls that are breeding in the valley or making their way north to other breeding grounds can be viewed from the many vantage points along the Moose River. You can usually expect to see between 5 and 10 trophy bulls during your hunt. The outfitter uses vocal calling to draw the bulls near, often calling in 1 to 3 bulls each day. It is common to call bulls within 40 yards and some as close as 5 yards. That will definitely give you a heart thumping experience! Lodging will be tent camps with lodging and meals included. There is a bush flight charter from Bettles, AK to the camp. The round-trip cost of the charter is $1,800 which is additional. You can combo this hunt for an arctic grizzly bear for $7,000 and wolf for $700. Not only is this an unbelievable hunt it’s a fantastic experience/adventure.
