Ranch Hunts: Hunting on one of Alberta’s premiere cattle ranches, with thousands of acres of private property. This hunting zone has one of the largest elk populations in the province. Total permit numbers for this ranch are 6 rifle and 9 archery per year, so advance booking is a must. Ranch is situated 1 hour drive west of the International Airport in Calgary. This is foothill country, up against the front range of the Canadian Rockies. Most of the ranch can be accessed by vehicle, which enables all hunters to have an excellent chance at a good bull elk. Accommodation is a cozy ranch house situated a couple of miles from the main ranch operation. Meals that are supplied to be first class; plan on gaining a few pounds during your stay with us. All hunting is done right from the cabin, either on foot or within a short driving distance. This hunt can be extended to allow one to hunt deer as well. Mountain Hunts: The mountains of Kananaskis make an ideal setting for a traditional horseback hunt. High success rate, with a six point minimum. Only two permits per year are offered to non-residents and a limited number for residents, which equates to fine trophy animals. This hunt can be more demanding than the ranch hunt. Accommodation while on this hunt is split between ranch and back country tent camps. Mule Deer and Black Bear can also be added to this hunt.
