This preferred outfitter offers 6-Day Archery and Rifle Elk Hunts. Archery Hunts take Place from Aug 25th to September 16th followed by Rifle Starting Sept 17th to October 1st. The Most exhilarating being the early season peak of the Rut for the better part of September when the Bulls are Fighting for Dominance and Eager to respond to Bugling, Chuckling, and Cow Calls as they are still on the move building there Harem. Hunts with this outfitter are conducted either in the Rocky Mountain Foothills (WMU 300 Series) or in the Rocky Mountain range (WMU 400 Series). The primary difference being between these two locations is the point minimums where the WMU 300 areas have a 3 Pt. Minimum and the WMU 400 areas have 6 Pt. Minimum. WMU 300 Series Hunts: Elk numbers continue to increase in this outfitters Prime Elk Country Sweet Spots, 4 & 5 Point Bulls have become common place and 6 Point Bulls are the goal. This outfitter offers River Float Hunts (their favorite); also ATV Hunts into remote Hunting areas where all you will see is Mother Nature’s Best. They also offer Spot and Stalk and Tree Stand Hunt’s that also produce excellent results. You will have a chance to see a number of Bulls over the three point minimum requirement and a good probability on an opportunity at the Wall hanger you have dreamed of. Elk numbers have increased substantially over the last 10 years in this outfitters area and now producing more mature Bulls over 300 inches. You will be hunting in one of the few areas in North America where clients can pursue Bulls in the peak of the Rut with Archery or Rifle. WMU 400 Series: These Wildlife Management Units Run from the Brazeau River Canyon’s on the South Border of our territory and North along Jasper National Park Boundary on the West Side to Brule Lake and the Athabasca River, the Eastern Border Runs South of Hwy #16 Past Robb Ab on Forestry Trunk Roads. The Emerald Green Glacial fed Streams and Rivers that flow from the Mountains support a Diverse Ecosystem Consisting of Boreal Forests, dotted with Lakes and Marches surrounded with meadows and thick Cover, Bull Elk in these Mountain areas are Large and Plentiful due to Strict Wildlife Management Measures on Harvest numbers and size (6 Point Minimum) coupled with the tough Hunting Terrain, creating a unique opportunity to Harvest a Trophy Bull of a Lifetime. Not to mention with no open season on the smaller Bulls the numbers of Mature Legal 6 point + Bulls are substantially higher!
